Paul Scanlan is an actor and singer based out of Brooklyn, NY.
The stage bug first bit in Fourth grade when Paul played legendary jazz drummer Gene Krupa in a show he can't remember the name of. Having seemingly given up on the stage, Paul was persuaded to audition for the fall play his Junior year of high school. From there, Paul performed in shows in high school, college, and several summer theater programs.
His breakout role came in SPRING AWAKENING at The Keegan Theater in 2012. His portrayal of the anguished Moritz earned him his first Helen Hayes Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical.
Since then, he has worked at theaters in and around DC, at the historic Muny, and even played Paul Bunyan in a children's show about the history of Appalachia with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. He spent 18 months on the road with the National Tour of BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, and has recurred his role of SWAT Team Leader for the TV show “FBI” on CBS, in addition to other television appearances.
